Who is the Maverick Chef? And what makes him a “Maverick”??
After being laid off from his position as Executive Chef and Director of Food and Beverage for a hotel, due to COVID closures, Aaron Thomas began looking for other ways to live his passion for food. A friend asked for help making his meal prep business taste and run better, and after a few drinks and pizza, and 3 months of his wife asking him to cook dinner every night, the Maverick Chef was born.

If you’ve followed Aaron at all, you can clearly see his love for his country and state written all over him, literally.From Tattoos, to clothing, from his logo to rally’s, and patriotic nail art by his daughter, Chef Aaron is never afraid to show his American Pride.
Being deemed “The Maverick” was two fold. As an Arlington native and UTA alumni “Maverick” was in his blood. With his shoot from the hip cuisine with inventive recipes, like Pineapple Chutney Chorizo Burgers with Pickled Red Cabbage and Lemon Pepper Caper Salmon over Zucchini and Squash Au Gratin his meals were met with open plates.
Aaron has been chef for 8 years and staged (that’s chef talk for intern) for 3 under Chef Johnathon Gelman. Recently he was asked to transition the hotel and casino in GreenBay coinciding with the NFL season, allotting him the opportunity to cook for The Las Vegas Raiders, and the Carolina Panthers.
